After a couple of months of wanting a really fast remote control car, I finally broke down and bought one. I had my eye on the Pro-Pulse PRO-B100 RC car from the beginning because the reviews said it was an excellent value for $100.
Well Radioshack decided to sweeten the deal, and I couldn't resist. In addition to the car for $100, they now give you $110 worth of free accessories:
- Dirt or slick tires with rims - I opted for the slick tires because I want to run it on my street.
- High-Performance, High-Speed motor
- Replacement Bumpers
- Battery & Charger
This is pretty exciting, because I was originally looking at spending about $140. That was just for the car, charger, and battery. This package saved me $40, and I'm really glad I got the motor and tire upgrades.
The slick tires work awesome on the road, and they're wider than the stock tires. I don't know how fast the original motor was since I replaced it, but I know the new one is FAST.
So tonight, I got the battery half charged up (a full charge takes 10 hours), and started racing the real cars going down my street! It is supposed to go 25+ mph with the upgraded motor. There wasn't a car on the road that went fast enough that I wasn't able to pass it. This thing is a blast. I highly recommend it to anyone remotely interested in RC cars. I'll probably post a full review once I run it some more.
